The painting, located in the sacristy, was made on commission by Bartolomeo Stravazzino, portrayed at the bottom together with his son Giovanni in admiration of his name-sake christening Christ. It was originally located in an oratory dedicated to the Baptist which was then incorporated into the Palladio church.
