View of Venice
In the Correr Museum is the original wood used in creating the celebrated View of Venice in 1500, signed and dated by Jacopo de Barbari. The blocks, still marked with ink, show the extraordinary technical ability of the artist, capable of rendering the most minute details in what is considered the best portrayal of Venice in XVI century.
