The upcoming exhibition of internationally recognized artist Anish Kapoor will take place at the Gallerie dell’Accademia as well as in a second venue, Palazzo Manfrin, a historical Venetian palazzo positioned centrally in the city.
Palazzo Manfrin is the former home of a body of significant masterpieces that are now exhibited in the museum. By hosting the second part of this exhibition it creates a bridge between two historically, artistically and architecturally significant places through the works of Anish Kapoor. The artist's research and practise is deeply reflected in Venice’s unique characteristics, a city that has a a profound artistic tradition and a complexity of elements that cause existential reflections on space, light, permanence and the void.
The exhibition will include both retrospective elements as well as new works, created using carbon nanotechnology, that will be shown for the first time. These will be accompanied by recent paintings and sculptures that demonstrate the ever-pioneering and exciting trajectory of Kapoor’s production. On this occasion, Palazzo Manfrin also opens as the permanent seat of Anish Kapoor’s foundation.
