DESCRIZIONE:
Opened in 1963 on the first floor of Villa des Arènes, located in the archaeological site of Cimiez, the museum preserves the donation to the city of Nice by the french artist Henri Matisse.

The collection includes 31 paintings, 454 drawings and prints, 57 sculptures, which cover all the artist's production periods. The collection of the Matisse Museum in Nice is unique in the world as it brings together a collection of works and objects from the artist and his heirs. Most of these works and objects come directly from Henri Matisse's studio and constitute an exceptional testimony to man's life and his artistic research path.
