Matera - Despite the great beauty of their cultural heritage, Italian cities of art cannot leave safety issues out of consideration, as the latter often prevent them from being fully appreciated.
Thanks to a research from the Hrs center, a global solution provider specialized in business travels, now visitors know where exactly they will have to keep their eyes open wide.

According to this survey, carried on during the first three months of 2014, the most welcoming place is Matera, followed by Verona and Siena. Traffic and pickpockets, instead, penalized some big cities, namely Milan, Rome, Naples and Turin.
Venice reached the fourth place, before Florence, Lecce, Palermo, Parma, Perugia and Pisa.

The biggest fear, as 30% of the people interviewed said, is to be robbed, while 25% is worried by cars, often careless of pedestrians and bikes. 15% was also shocked by the degradation of our monuments.

Among 47 million tourists that came to Italy on 2013, the most concerned with safety issues are those from the United States and France. 17% and 15%, respectively, stated they will not go back to Italy for these reasons.
