Couple of Youths
Giorgio Franchetti Gallery at Ca' d'Oro
The most celebrated sculpture at the museum. The work, signed at the bottom, depicts two youths standing next to each other, recalling principles of the works of roman funerary monuments, but here idealized with virtuosity in marble. The origins of the piece are unknown.
