Nativity
On the altar of the Contarini chapel, perhaps part of what remains of the ancient oratory preceding the foundation of the church is the altar piece of Savoldo. It is one of three works by the painter on this theme. Noteworthy is the great detail given to the use of the light in the painting, offering various light sources in the work.
