DESCRIZIONE:
The Giardini the traditional venue of the International Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia since its first edition in 1895. They hosts the Central Pavilion and a further 29 national pavilions surrounded by greenery, several of them designed by famous architects.
This year at the Giardini is taking place the 57th International Art Exhibition, titled "Viva arte viva", curated by Christine Macel and organized by la Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta.
85 National Participations will be exhibiting in the historical Pavilions at the Giardini, at the Arsenale and in the city of Venice. Three are the countries participating for the first time: Antigua and Barbuda, Kiribati and Nigeria.
The Italian Pavilion at the Arsenale, organized by the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali with the Direzione generale Arte e architettura contemporanee e periferie urbane, is curated by Cecilia Alemani.
Many Collateral Events, approved by the curator of the International Exhibition and promoted by non profit national and international institutions, present their exhibitions and initiatives in various locations within the city of Venice.
