Turin King List (Turin Royal Canon)

Egyptian Museum of Turin

There are more than 160 fragments of this papyrus, which contains a complete list of the pharaohs and the years of their reigns, from the demigod Ptah to the rulers of the 17th dynasty. There is writing on both the back and the front. The text is divided into columns of approximately 25/30 lines. This precious document was found by Bernardino Drovetti in the Theban Necropolis and Jean-François Champollion was the first to attempt to read it.
