Exquisite allegories of senses, dark pantries and busy kitchens, lively taverns, sumptuously decked tables for sacred or profane banquets, crispy bread, fruits and vegetables with bright colors, shining fish and shelfishes, wild games, bleeding meats, sausages and aromatic cheeses, sweets as precious as jewels, wine and velvet liqueurs fill four luxurious little rooms of the Galleria Doria Pamphilj and inundate guests of sensations.
The exhibition Il nutrimento universale dell’arte. La collezione Doria Pamphilj e il cibo  curated by Alessandra Mercantini, with the Patronage of EXPO Milano 2015, will open on 25th September and will invite the guests to enjoy a journey through the secular connection between art and food: masterpieces of Bassano’s and Lavagna’s families, artworks of italian painters, like Pasquale Chiesa, Ippolito Scarsella and Niccolò Stanchi, and magnificent paintings of flemish Jan van Kessel, Johannes Hermans, David Ryckaert and David Teniers, belonging to the amazing Doria Pamphilj collection, will be exhibited in Gallery’s “Salette” and some of them, normally situated in private apartments of Princess Donna Gesine and Prince Don Jonathan, will be extraordinarily offered for the first time to the guests.
