Milan - This May the Provincia di Milano opens to the public the wonderful halls of Palazzo Isimbardi, via Vivaio nr.1. Visitors could access the building and visit its rooms on Friday, May 9th at 10am and on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014.
The oldest part of the Palazzo dates back to the 16th century and is home to a relevant number of artworks, including masterpieces by 19th-century lombard artists, but also the "Apotheosis of Angelo della Vecchia in the Sign of the Virtues" by Giambattista Tiepolo.
The painting, created around 1760, depicts an almost life-size Angelo della Vecchia ascending to the Heaven of Heroes, in an allegoric scene full of contrasts between different forms of virtue and vice.
The Provincia organizes also guided tours on demand, available for small groups (4-5 people) or individuals.
