Venice - This year cinema lovers coming to Venice for the 71. International Film Festival will fine a lively lagoon full of events.
Besides the Architecture Biennale, which opens for six months this year, even the Venice Lido and the island of San Servolo will turn into a gallery en plein air.
The event "OPEN 17. International Exhibition of Sculptures and Installations" takes place between August 28th and September 28th, 2014.
More than 30 international artists from twelve countries participates to the 17th edition. They will create site specific installation in the public spaces of the two islands.
Within Open the combination of sculpture and environment is an unlimited and fascinating issue, which develops through many aspects of the artistic discourse and create a dialogue with the territory of the lagoon, which is full of anthropological and cultural meanings.
The 5th edition of the Arte Laguna Special Price also takes place during the exhibition. A specific jury will select and award a young artist, who will have the opportunity to join those shortlisted for the Arte Laguna Prize 2015 and display his works during the events organized by the association.
