Baptism of Christ

Museum of Rome (Braschi Palace)

DESCRIZIONE:

This sculptural group, made up of the two sculptures of Saint John the Baptist and Jesus, was created by the famous student of Bernini, accentuating the dynamism and contrasts of light. The buyer intended the work to be placed in the church of  San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, but it never made it there, instead being placed at Ponte Milvio and, later on, at Palazzo Braschi.
