DESCRIZIONE:
This ancient decanter for wine is one of the utmost masterpieces of grecian polychromatic painting in all of Italy. Made in Corinth in the Seventh Century B.C. it was brought to Veio, where it was later discovered. It is decorated with the characteristic technique and black figures, yet new colors for the era are also present (reddish brown, yellow and white) and among the scenes depicted are a battle and the Judgement of Paris.
