This elegant gold necklace dating back to the end of the 1st century BC evokes the gifts of Venus. Fine foil cylinders alternate with 30 shell-shaped pendants, a symbol of the goddess of love and beauty who, according to the myth, was born from the foam of the sea. We do not know who the lucky owner of the jewel was, counted among the excellence of Aquileian goldsmithing in Roman times. At the Archaeological Museum we admire it in comparison with precious gems, amber objects, ornaments and jewelry forged in the most diverse and refined materials, which often accompanied their owners even in the afterlife.
