The Hunt of Diana
The great artist from Bologna made this work for the Frascati villa of cardinal Aldobrandini, but it was stolen from his shop after he had been imprisoned by Scipione Borghese. The subject is Diana and her nymphs taking a bath, captured in the most sensual of hunting parties. The Gallery also has another magnificent painting by Domenichino: the Sibyl.
