DESCRIZIONE:
In 1997 Santiago Calatrava, the famous architect and sculptor, author of famous architectures worldwide, designed the project for the fourth and most recent bridge of the Grand Canal, started in 2003 and opened to the public, amid protest caused by costs and delays, on 11 September, 2008. The bridge links the main bus station/car park of Piazzale Roma with the city by one single daring arched truss without visible supports, made of glass and pietra d'Istria to be integrated in the complex landscape of the city.
