Rivoli Museum celebrates thirty years of activity

Turin - The Museum of  Contemporary Arts at the Rivoli Castle will celebrate thirty years of activity in 2014. Many initiatives and events will follow this important anniversary through the whole year.

The celebrations are announced on Twitter with the hashtag #18rivolicast, while a full calendar will present something special every month on the 18th, from March to the most-awaited date: on December 18th the jubilee will reach its peak.
They will begin with the opening of the Chinese hall, renovated with the support of crowdfunding activities joined by private citizens, local dealers and companies. On this occasion the work "Yassin Dynasty (No. 6)" by Raed Yassin will be presented.

In the castle designed by Juvarra, where the Museum was established in 1984 under the presidency of Giovanni Minoli, various events will take place, namely conferences, lectures, guided tours and exhibitions.
They will begin on April 8th with Jan Dibbets and a guided tour of the Museum in the inaugural exhibition of 1984. "Ritratto dell'artista da giovane" will be the next, starting on June 10th. "Intenizione manifest", an exhibition entirely devoted to drawings is expected in October 2014, and will feature works by renowned artists, including William Kentridge, Richard Long, Matt Mullican, Francis Alÿs and Tacita Dean, but also Pablo Picasso, Joan Mirò, Paul Klee, George Grosz and Giacomo Balla. Finally, there will be the first solo exhibition of Sophie Calle in an Italian museum, curated by Beatrice Merz.
