Fundamentals begins on June 7th

The Biennale appoints the International Jury

Venice - The Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta appointed, the International Jury of the 14. International Architecture Exhibition, which includes:

Kunlé Adeyemi (Nigeria), well-known architect with experience in India, Korea, Africa and Europe.
Francesco Bandarin (Italy), former Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, currently Deputy Director General for Culture, was fundamental in the development of strategies for the conservation of the heritage around the world.
Bregtje van der Haak (Netherlands), the award-winning documentary filmmaker interested in architecture.
Hou Hanru (China), former co-curator of the exhibition Cities on the Move at the Hayward Gallery in 1999 and then a curator at the Art Institute of San Francisco, is the artistic director of MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome.
Mitra Khoubrou (United Arab Emirates), director of the Pink Tank based in Dubai, with extensive involvement in the economic and cultural issues in the Middle East.

The President of the Jury will be appointed by the same jurors during their first meeting.

The Jury will award the following prizes:
- Golden Lion for Best National Participation;
- Silver Lion for a National Participation;
- Silver Lion for the best research project for the Monditalia section of Fundamentals .

The jury will also assign up to three special mentions to the National Participations and up to three special mentions to research projects of the section "Monditalia".

The awards ceremony will be held during the opening of the exhibition, which will take place Saturday, June 7 at 11am at the Giardini of the Biennale. It will open to the public on the same day at 10 am.
