Sistine Chapel
Built between 1475 and 1481 by Sixtus IV, it is one of the most celebrated locations in the history of art and contains at least three series of painting of immense interest: the first is that of the frescoes depicting the Stories of Moses and Christ by Perugino, Ghirlandaio, Pinturicchio, Botticelli, Signorelli and others (1481-82 ca.); the other is the vaulted ceiling, the Volta Sistina by Michelangelo (1508-12); and the third is the Final Judgement, Giudizio Universale, also by Michelangelo (1536-41).
