Palazzo delle Esposizioni

San Giovanni, Esquilino, Monti

Palazzo delle Esposizioni
It was built from 1877 to 1883 by Pio Piacentini, who created a neoclassic building, characterized by an enormous palladian window mounted on corinthian columns on the facade at the top of the front stairway. The facades of the wings are crowned by 12 statues of celebrated artists, while at the sides of the entrance are allegories of the arts and reliefs with the Festeggiamenti per la Madonna di Cimabue and the Ritrovamento del Laocoonte.
Since its inauguration, the palazzo has been used for temporary exhibitions. From 1927 to the present, it has been home to the Quadriennale di Roma.
