Courtyard

Museum of Palazzo Grimani

DESCRIZIONE:
The design of the courtyard, concluded after the middle of the 1500s, represents the first attempt carried out in Venice to recreate, in a home, the model of the ancient roman domus. The courtyard, lined with arched columns, imitates the peristyle, the courtyards of roman homes. The Grimani kept  their collection of antiquities there.
