The Academy of Turin aims to promote, through this international initiative, knowledge and understanding and the exchange of artistic and human young artists from all cultures of the world; also want to ensure that, through the mutual exchange of experiences, the comparison of their artistic work, the young people who will be in Turin for this initiative, carry a dialogue of peace and friendship as well as the comparison on the basis of the importance of art has in the formation of every human being.
The Academy has chosen as the theme for the first edition of the festival, the sense of the body.
This topic will be addressed by the artists participating in their research and artistic production through at all possible forms of expression. A body that can have infinite variations, what are the possible artistic expressions of man.
Reflections and awareness of this nature are substantiated so striking as the art schools of the world meet virtually and physically, and not just work to ensure that their meeting from turning into significant opportunities for all those who live in places where they are held or that reach for the occasion. There is a long tradition of international events they see meet, around one or more themes of cultural and professional established artists, but there are few international experiences that involve teachers and students in order to discuss and exchange experiences, take courageous positions and at the same time offer the host territory quality exhibitions, shows, performances, events, opportunities for interaction are able to engage intellectually and emotionally.

Operations of this kind promote knowledge and understanding as well as human and artistic exchange of young artists from different cultures around the world, and ensure that, through the offer and the comparison of its work, the young creatives are bearers of peace and friendship as well as the message that art is the connotation deeper and identification of the human being. The dialogue that always characterizes these initiatives is aimed at a constant overcoming of political and cultural barriers that, at the beginning of this new century, seem to come back as ominous shadows on the search for a lasting world peace.

The Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti of Turin, given the richness and variety of its activities and productions, he felt his duty to offer schools of art and design in the world, a new opportunity to meet for future beauty professionals and of social communication, and the territory of Turin and Piedmont the ability to understand, appreciate, discuss the different ways of producing knowledge and creativity that develop within those particular "worlds" which are precisely the so-called "art school". For this reason he decided to organize the 1st International Festival of Schools of Art and Design (FISAD), which will take place in Turin from 1 to 26 July 2015.

The theme of the Festival: "The sense of the body"

The Accademia Albertina has accepted the challenge of limited time (less than a year) in order not to miss the appointment with a very special moment for Turin, who will not have anything to envy to that of the Olympics (2006) and the sesquicentennial of 'Unification of Italy (2011). The next year, in fact, the City will be directly affected by the Expo Milan will be sufficient for a little more than 30 minutes by train to move from one location to another and the organizers of the event have requested Milan to Turin to welcome visitors from all over the world not only their facilities but also in its unique natural environment, rich in its museum system, in the beauty and liveliness of its streets and squares. 2015 will be the year that will be opened in the new Egyptian Museum (which will offer the best preparation in the world in the field) and the new Savoy Gallery (which contains one of the largest art collections in Northern Europe). It will be the year in which they're going to end town-planning principles such as the railway, the extension of the metro, the construction of skyscrapers Intesa San Paolo and the Piedmont Region. It will be the year when there will be a new Exposition of the Shroud, on the occasion of the bicentennial of the birth of Don Bosco and Pope Francis will make his first visit to the region from which his family. Will be the year in which you will implement the program of Turin European Capital of Sport. All this not only focus attention once again on the international Turin but greatly enrich the attractiveness of the Expo itself.

They were just references to the Expo and Sport led to choose the theme for the Festival sense of the body. Needless to say, the human body is always at the center of education and artistic production of man as is the practice of sports and that set of issues that have given rise to the Expo 2015.

The meaning of the body is then the issue that many young artists face through all the possible forms of expression, in their research and their artistic production. It is a very topical subject that can be seen and interpreted from many points of view: the body and nature, the body and the mind, body and emotions, body and movement, the body and the music, the body and food, the body and social relations, the body and the politics ...

Who participates in

It is expected the participation of about 60 Academies and the Faculty of Fine Arts from all over the world, especially with regard to emerging countries such as India, Brazil, China, without excluding the new realities facing the international world of art production as the countries of the United Arab or African countries. However, in its first edition, the Festival has identified as the guests of honor at State Academies of Fine Arts and the Italian Academies historical non-state, just to take the opportunity of the international limelight offer to our country from the Expo in Milan. Each participating school will bring with it a representation of teachers and students as well as a number of works in the fields of visual arts (painting, sculpture, decoration, set design, graphics), arts, film, theater, video, performing arts in typically, even in comparison with the new technologies.

The involvement of the City

As is customary for the Turin-cultural system, all its components will be involved in the planning of the event both in the creation of the network of space and time needed for a smooth and attractive presentation of the products that come to Turin for the occasion. For 7 days, the so-called opening week of events, the spaces of the Albertina (in particular the "Rotonda" shown in the logo) and other venues, theater, conference will be attended by guests from all over the world as well as by citizens and by tourists. Will follow one another exhibition openings, performances, performances but also workshops, conferences and meetings. The exhibitions will then be visited until July 26. It will be a great event that will offer a unique and valuable status of young art in Italy and in the world.

The agreement with the Sports Council of the City of Turin involves the insertion of the Festival among the most important events of the project Turin European Capital of Sport, as they provide an opportunity to connect the latter with the many realities in educational field Art that will be present in the city and enrich the sporting event of significant moments of reflection on the nobility of the concept of the body as a foundation of human life and its cultural representation.

The agreement with the Department of Culture of the City of Turin is expected that the Festival enters also in the schedule of Glycolic and that of the rich cultural offerings that will provide Turin Expo. This will allow the Festival to include in its entirety attraction of a visit to the nearby Universal Exposition of the latter and vice versa visitors will be invited to attend the festival during their stay in the northwest Italian.

In addition, thanks to an agreement that the Albertina Academy has established with the Italian Pavilion of the Expo, the Italian Academies FISAD participants will perform in a performative action, inside the Expo, repeating the performance for a week all 'inside of a 24-week schedule to be determined.

Among the cultural events of the Festival will be the institutional international study conference on body in contemporary arts.

In addition, will be awarded during the closing ceremony of the event, chosen by a special jury, an award to an artist of global significance with which their work has particularly contributed to the research and experimentation of the theme subject of this first edition of the Festival.
